From Publishers Weekly
Meyer, the spirited television preacher with more than 70 books in print, tackles the mystery of prayer with notable success. A prolific author (The Confident Woman; Battlefield of the Mind; Approval Addiction) known for delivering no-nonsense biblical commentary, does a first-rate job in this exhaustive, yet simply presented, guide. Each of the 14 chapters provides fans with a different facet of this spiritual discipline. Meyer says that for a fruitful prayer life, it's essential to understand the balance between praise, worship, thanksgiving and making petitions. She challenges Christians to both consecrate and fully commit themselves to God's service and to realize that though prayer is simple, it is also a work that requires persistence and perseverance. For Meyer, effective prayer is characterized by a life of obedience, righteousness, continual petition and submission to divine authority. Christians must be focused on others, kindhearted, forgiving and boldly expectant. While her large fan base will relish this resource, others not in the charismatic evangelical camp might be alienated by Meyer's take on "praying in a prayer language" and her assumption that blessing others automatically invites material blessings to rebound from God. Still, the book reminds Christians that prayer is a joyous task of partnering with God on eternal matters. (Apr. 3)

Insightful Teaching From Someone With Credibility
By Dr. W. G. Covington, Jr.
Joyce Meyer combines Bible teaching with practical experience to show how the principles she teaches have worked. She discloses the errors she has made previously and how she has grown spiritually mature as a result. It is such a blessing to read books from authors who have prayed for their readers (which she mentions a couple of times in this book--as I'm doing for the readers of this review I might add). God answered her prayers as the teaching added significantly to my understanding.

In the beginning she begins with the book's theme, i.e., that prayer is simple. From this opening she adds to the discussion by teaching about various kinds of prayers and uses illustrations from the Bible to make his case. Prayer is coupled with other principles in God's Word such as thankfulness. She writes, "Thankfulness opens the door for God to bless us, and complaining opens the door for the devil to curse us."

Other writers on prayer such as Watchman Nee, E. M. Bounds, and Andrew Murray are cited throughout the book. On intercession, she links the experience with the priestly role Jesus performs on our behalf in heaven, telling readers, "I encourage you to draw nearer to God by joining Jesus in His ministry of intercession." Husband Dave is used to illustrate the different prayer assignments God gives. Dave prays passionately for the United States. She points out that it is a God-given passion and God assigns different concerns to us individually.

On loving one's enemies, she tells us that something powerful happens in the spiritual realm when we do this. She correctly notes that "you don't do it because you feel like it--you do it as unto the Lord. Choosing to pray and bless instead of curse..." She adds that consequently, "God will do great things in your life as a result of it."

Chapter eleven on walking in love and blessing people consistently is powerful reading. She gives creative ways to bless people in practical ways. In chapter 13 when she gives an example of a one word prayer that got dramatic results, it reminded me of something I read from Oral Roberts that talked about how a simple one word prayer is extremely effective. The word--"Jesus"--read that section of the book. What happened was a literal miracle. You can't get much more simple than one word. Read this book! Prayer is exciting and easy.

"Simple" +"Prayer" = "Breakthrough"
By mamalicious23
For the longest time, I've struggled with prayer.
Then I got hold of this book

I thought I had to assume the position (on my knees, eyes closed)
I found standing at the bus stop, leaning over the copier or my child's bathtime works fine

I thought I needed eloquent, prayer-worthy verses to be heard
I found my everyday words get the message across to my Father

I thought I needed to finetune my pitch before knocking on the Boss's door
I found Someone who listens to everything I say- what I whine about, sob over- without judgement

I thought that I needed to schedule a set block of time
I found 5 second prayers work but I still to schedule a prayer date with my Friend- that works

I thought I repeat my personal requests over and over in case the first never made it passed my ceiling
I found I'm heard the first time and now I can spend the extra time praying for others who need it more than I

I'm only a few chapters into the book
... excited about what else I'll learn about my Friend

Joyce Meyer has written an excellent book to help make your prayer life more effective
By M. Marra
Joyce Meyer has written an excellent book to help make your prayer life more effective. She outlines ways to make your prayers more powerful, concise and effective -- essentially, more uniquely your own. Also, she talks about barriers to effective prayer such as intention and attitude. The Power of Simple Prayer is easy to understand and the principles are laid out for you in a very inspiring manner. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to grow closer to God in their prayer life.

Good sixth book of the series. Liked the inclusion of other seal team members. Did not like the children's kidnapping.

Another fantastic SEAL story!
By Tracy Vest
A teen pregnancy and marriage to her high school sweetheart turns out to be a horrible mistake for Ellie Stuart. Broke and divorced, she relocates to Virginia and tries to make a new life with her three sons. But a dark and sinister civic organization known as the Centurions has other ideas and kidnaps the boys only for the authorities to think that Ellie simply had enough and killed them. SEAL sniper Sean Harlan knows she wouldn't harm them; he's her landlord and is attracted to her but considers her hands off since he doesn't date women with children. He takes some leave to help her find her kids only to be embroiled in the investigation since the Centurions need a fall guy. The closer they get to the truth, the guiltier Sean looks to the Feds thanks to the Centurions' planted evidence.

Melton's latest SEAL story has all the action-packed romance readers come to expect from her. She also manages to weave characters from her other novels in the series into the storyline without it seeming forced, as well as introducing new characters with interesting sub-plots without taking away from the central theme of the novel. This is the sixth in the series and she has had me hooked since day one!

A novel of the Navy Seals of Team 12
By Elaine C McTyer
Marliss Melton continues her wonderful series about the Navy Seal's. As with her other books this one combines romance, action, and thrills. I love her guys who defend our country and still have a warm inside that attracts women. No matter how hard they are with terrorists. They still have tenderness for those weaker than themselves. I don't know if this is true of every SEAL, but I like to think so. They give so unselfishly to our country. I would hope they do the same for their mates, who must wait while they defend freedom.

Ellie Stuart's life has not been great, she got pregnent in high school and married the man of her dreams. Only he turned into a nightmare. In the last novel she was able to return the son he was looking for to Senior Soloman. Later she followed him to Virginia and he and his wife have helped her while she goes to school and raises three sons.

Sean Harlan is a SEAL in team 12, he rehabs and rents houses in his down time. When Ellie arrived he lets her rent one of his houses and takes up time with her boys. Sean is a player and his only rule is not to date single mothers. He has been on a deployment for the last 6 months and has just returned to the states. He can't believe how much he missed the three boys not to mention Ellie.

Ellie knows Sean is a player and she is not going down that road again. But when her three boys are kidnapped Sean is not backing down, he will do anything to help find the kids. Ellie is at her wits end, who would kidnap her kids? Their father didn't even want them. The situation brings Ellie and Sean closer togather.

Now they are the center of the investigation. Instead of looking for the kidnappers the police are looking at Ellie. Someone is trying to frame them and it has to be someone with power. It will take Navy Seals to find her sons and the kidnappers.

Do not miss this one. I read every page and enjoyed them. The action is good and well written and the romance is tender. Read and enjoy.

Amazon.com Review
Humanity has spread among the stars, colonizing new worlds. Now the species is in danger of extinction from the interrelated disasters of virulent new diseases and collapsing ecosystems. Of all the colony worlds, only Pandora is unaffected, and the Pandorans are fanatically determined to preserve both their health and the pristine ecosystem, which they keep off-limits even to themselves. But the colonies have vowed to destroy Pandora if its biogenetics experts don't find a cure for the "diversity crisis." The Pandorans struggle without hope until they discover something in the Trust family genes that might save the devastated colonies. And two innocent girls, Chena and Teal Trust, find themselves fugitives in the narrow, closed settlements of Pandora, pursued by desperate scientists and criminals who will do anything, even commit murder, to gain control of the girls' genes.

In addition to Kingdom of Cages, Sarah Zettel is the author of Reclamation, which tied for winner of the 1997 Locus Award for Best First Novel and was a Philip K. Dick Award finalist in 1996; Fool's War, a New York Times Notable Book of 1997; Playing God; and The Quiet Invasion. --Cynthia Ward

From Publishers Weekly
Nothing is the least bit forced or overly clever in this winning coming-of-age story, a seamless blend of concept, plot and characterization. Chena Trust grows up on an overcrowded space station where her family has had to toil endlessly to make enough money to pay for their air. When she finally moves down to Pandora, the planet around which the station orbits, she has to work even harder than on the space station to pay for her upkeep and has to endure the humiliation of communal showers; in addition, force fields keep her away from the native Pandoran wild life. She has no idea how lucky she is. On all the other worlds humanity has colonized, the people are dying of horrible mutations as their planets' biospheres fall apart. The Hothousers who rule Pandora, and have made protecting the biosphere their mission, are dragged into using genetic engineering to help the rest of humanity overcome the "diversity crisis." An essential part of the Eden plan involves the Trust family, but they are unwilling to cooperate. Zettel (The Quiet Invasion) masterfully creates her world and allows her adolescent protagonist to mature slowly and logically. The plot moves along nicely, but at times Pandora's general serenity seeps into the main story and smothers some of the tension. (Aug. 28)Forecast: The strong female protagonists in this work will appeal to many, and there will be some YA appeal as well. While this novel won't go flying off the shelves, its catchy title may help to get it into a solid number of hands.

From Library Journal
As environmental deterioration and incurable pandemics sweep the colonized worlds, the Colonial Shipping Authority seeks aid from the isolated and apparently untouched planet of Pandora, resorting to threats of contamination to force assistance from a world unwilling to risk itself for the greater good. As relations between the Authority and the planet worsen, the fate of humanity hinges on two young women, whose genes hold the key to savingor destroyingthe human race. Zettel (Reclamation; Fool's War) crafts a taut, action-filled coming-of-age tale. Recommended for both adult and YA sf collections.

Good Writing, but I shouldn't have read it on 9/11/01
By Shanshad
Sarah's created a complex society of people that are desperately pressured to find a solution to the problems of disease facing the other colonies. It explores characters of depth and complication. Admittedly, I didn't like this book on a personal level. But living in NYC right now I find it difficult to look at some of the ruthless mindsets created in this book. There is a strong level of violence and cold praticality in this book that ring true for the kind of story the author's creating. There is pain and triumph, victory and defeat--all very powerful, but this is not a light work and I admit I couldn't quite deal with the darkness of the plot. I also didn't find that I could identify strongly with any of the characters. The entirety of the plot remained a little to distanced for me to do that. Still, an excellent book that I reccomend to those who enjoy good, epic SF and strong female characters.

Lots of questions, but no easy answers
By Ashley Megan
This novel starts brilliantly, with an intriguing premise, a strange world and culture, and a cast of interesting, complex, yet likable characters. It's unfortunate that it peters out at the end, with a conclusion that manages to feel both rushed and hanging. I get the feeling this might have made a better duology, an idea reinforced by the five-year "jump" that occurs in the middle of the book which, while it ultimately makes sense, is nevertheless jarring.

My favorite aspect of the book is the fact that it presents all sides of every situation, from every perspective. We're first led to sympathize with the Pandoran's refusal to allow refugees to immigrate to their planet, then later to demonize them for it. Likewise, the interplanetary Authority and its representative, Beleraja Poulos, are first painted as bad guys, throwing their weight around and using force and terror to bully the Pandorans into helping them. Later, as we learn more about Beleraja and the situation she faces, we start to respect her courage. Zettel refuses to paint her characters in black and white; each has complicated motivations and conflicting values and it's quickly obvious that there's no "right" solution.

Even the situation presented to the two main protagonists, young sisters Chena and Teal Trust, is fraught with "do the ends justify the means" quandaries. Told their genetic makeup is uniquely suited to creating a cure for the mysterious disease striking colonized worlds across the galaxy, they are nevertheless hesitant to allow the Pandorans access to their bodies. Their qualms are perfectly understandable, yet also selfishly motivated. What if the Trusts could save lives through the sacrifice of their freedom (or perhaps lives)? Would it be worth it?

Zettel, unfortunately, makes little attempt to answer this question. The second half of the book seems to lose focus, dissolving into a confusing jumble of double-crossing. The scenes with the city-mind of Pandora, an artificial intelligence named Aleph, are so full of promise yet so ultimately confusing and secondary to the main plot that we are left frustrated.

Yet overall, this is a fascinating book with a lot of great ideas. The images of the ecology of Pandora are great, as are the descriptions of the unique culture the Pandorans have created to protect it. And Chena and Teal Trust are absolutely believable as adolescents and sisters, flawed yet likable and resourceful. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes intelligent science fiction.

A surprising big win -- must read
By Alan Deikman
Sarah Zettel has achieved something very hard to do, particularly in SF. This story is both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. You will be surprised to see how fully you will be drawn in.
Helice Trust and her two daughters, Chena (age 13) and Teal (age 10), are refugees, with as little personal civil rights as refugees typically have. Determined to better their condition, Helice applies for and gets admittance to the villages of Pandora. She is aware that the global government, at odds with the rest of human civilization, has determined that her genetic makeup is nearly perfect to solve a problem they have to solve, and want to use her for biological experiments. In spite of being offered an easy way out (they're willing to pay everything she wants), she will not bear a child for them to be used as a lab rat. Although we don't get to know Helice that much in this story, she is certainly the moral center.
Tam is the remote but protective official who has charge of the village, and he is determined to support Helice in her free choice. But he may be overmatched by the planet's politics.
What fuels this books emotional impact is that Chena and Teal are fully convincing as real sisters. They love each other, and are capable of annoying each other only as real siblings can. One moment they are quibbling, the next playing a shared game that they made up. One of the games is to make up heroic stories about their missing dad, which they indulge in fully aware they are fantasies and not likely to be for real. Both girls are outgoing and inclined to get in trouble, but are still fully devoted to their mom and accept her corrections without question.
Chena is more than willing to fight for what she wants, even willing to take on a fistfight with a bigger boy her first day on Pandora rather than take an insult, but is then perfectly willing to make friends with the guy's sister. It's hard not to like someone like that. Determined to do her part and help her mom, she finds a way to make money in their new home, and eventually ends up in a fight with nearly the whole planet.
If this story has a flaw I think that the galactic crisis seems somewhat contrived. There is really very little explanation or theory why every human colony would go into an irretriveable death spiral, and the proposed solution really makes no sense. But that is the storm in the ocean; what this story is about is what is going on in the boat. Well worth reading.

From Publishers Weekly
Bestselling Salvatore (Starless Night) returns with a pleasant fantasy novel, notable mainly for its attention to detail. Salvatore describes and choreographs battle scenes better than any other contemporary fantasist, as this first tale of the adventures of Luthien Bedwyr amply demonstrates. The naive Luthien plunges into a series of events, beginning with a self-imposed exile from his father's kingdom of Bedwyr, which has fallen "under the iron rule of King Greensparrow of Avon," that test his mettle and increase the political stakes for which he must fight. As Salvatore carefully and exquisitely builds his narrative, Luthien, along with the charming Oliver de Burrows?self-described thief with the obligatory heart of gold?finds his actions becoming more consequential, especially in his Robin Hood-like guise as the "Crimson Shadow." The tale is satisfactorily resolved, but with enough matters left hanging to suggest that readers looking forward to a sequel may well be rewarded.

From Library Journal
Young Luthien Bedwyr's blind loyalty to his father, the Earl of Bedwydrin, turns to contempt when he realizes that his father is powerless against the agents of the evil Wizard-King who rules their land. Taking to the road to fight for justice, Luthien acquires a roguish (and diminutive) highway halfling companion, a magical cape, and a reputation as "The Crimson Shadow." The author of the "Dark Elf" series tries his hand at swashbucking fantasy with this fast-paced series opener. Although an overabundance of swordplay leaves marginal room for character development, the heroes' escapades pave the way for future adventures. Libraries looking to satisfy a demand for fantasy adventure may want to consider this title.

From Booklist
Salvatore expands his fantasy output with what is clearly the first volume in a projected series that borrows generously from the Robin Hood legend and the Matter of Britain and tricks them out skillfully in modern fantasy genre conventions. The virtuous land of Eriador has been enslaved, and a young nobleman finds himself suddenly no longer on safe terms with its masters. Taking to the road, he becomes a successful outlaw known for distributing stolen goods to the poor and leaving behind only the mark of his shadow in crimson (look for the series to be called The Crimson Shadow). As he does, he also becomes a symbol of rebellion against the overlords. Briskly paced, with touches of wry wit, the yarn is easy to recommend to fantasy fans eager to start another saga. Even for a young reader, I think this book would be too predictable and wooden. I feel like Salvatore dumbed it down too much for his young readers.

Great writing from Salvatore
By Jack Smith
Love the Crimson Shadow. Salvatore is a master of fantasy writing. If you've never read any of his books and a fantasy lover then you're missing out on one of the best and in my opinion the best fantasy writer alive today. Try the Cleric Quintet, or any of his Dark Elf book's. The only problem is there's so many lol.

Excellent!
By S. Ward
Film making is essentially storytelling, and as a writing teacher and avid reader, it's always fascinated me. I have been wanting to learn more about this storytelling process, and about the nuts and bolts of movie-making -- including scriptwriting, camera angles, and editing -- in a way that's relatively quick and accessible. This little book was perfect for me. It's deceptively straightforward and simple but rich with information. It helped me grasp the process of film-making, which Neil Landau described as both "painstakingly deliberate and fortuitously experimental." I am excited about looking for some of techniques he described next time I watch an excellent movie.

Some aspects of movie making the author touches on:

* The stages of film-making -- from pre-production to post-production.
* The nuts and bolts of screenplays -- have you ever wondered how to format a screenplay or how long it should be? (hint: 1 screenplay page = 1 minute of screen time)
* Writing and editing the screenplay -- it includes some of the standard gems cherished by us writing teachers, like "show, don't tell," plus tips for plotting, advice on developing a compelling protagonist, and more.
* Coming up with an effective movie title.
* Creating believable dialogue.
* How to pitch a screenplay to a film studio executive.
* How to use lighting and various camera lenses and angles to tell your story and reveal important things about a character's psychology.
* Tips for casting.
* Things the audience should experience during a movie, like catharsis.

This is a concise, intriguing overview of the art of film making, strewn with quotes from movie makers, actors, and writers, that I'll be keeping on a side table in my T.V. room for future reference. Many of the ideas explored in this book, including plot development, creating characters, storytelling, themes, and imagery, will also help with reading or writing fiction. I highly recommend it to writers, film buffs, teachers, homeschoolers and anyone who is fascinated with the process of telling a compelling story.

101 Things I Learned in Film School - Buy this little black book!

I carry around a little black book--101 Things I Learned in Film School by Neil Landau. Ever since I bought and read it, I have been carrying this excellent book around with me like a good luck charm so I can have Landau's sage wisdom and years of talent/expert advice and experience as a screenwriter/filmmaker at my fingertips. I am sure you will feel the same about its contents--you'll never "lose" this book - it's chocked full of 101 powerful lessons on screenwriting and film for the beginner, intermediate, or advanced student. Even professional filmmakers/screenwriters will benefit from reviewing all of the book's most pertinent ideas and advice to recharge their creativity or focus anew on a project or script.

As a professor of creative writing, I will now use 101 Things I Learned in Film School in all my film/screenwriting classes. Additionally, as the Director of both the Chicago Writers' Workshop and the Los Angeles Writers' Workshop, I am implementing this book into all of our screenwriting and film classes! Forget about spending thousands of dollars on film school when this book can give you so much at a fraction of the cost--expert advice from a master who knows Hollywood and his craft, Neil Landau. I highly recommend 101 Things I Learned in Film School!

KISS: Behind the Mask - Official Authorized Biography, by David Leaf, Ken Sharp

From Publishers Weekly
With its combination of cartoonish monster-movie makeup and oversized costumes, ear-splitting amplification and gleeful songs in praise of sex, heavy metal rock legend Kiss has never been accused of not being excessive, and this book is a great example of why it is still a multimillion-dollar profit-making machine. While this book covers much of the same biographical territory as Gene Simmons's Kiss and Make-Up and Kisstory (the band's self-published 440-page coffee-table-sized tome), the authorized bio presents more than enough new material to make it essential for hardcore fans. Much of the book's first half presents a previously unpublished work based on the only in-depth interviews the band gave in 1980. The result is a remarkably humanizing look behind the heavy metal tomfoolery, with Simmons more honestly discussing his Jewish upbringing than he does in his autobiography, and the rest of the band disarmingly admitting to borrowing from the glam-rocker New York Dolls as well as the Harlem Globetrotters. The book's second half, however, is the true highlight for Kiss fans: a comprehensive look at all of the Kiss albums ever made. Among the surprises is the praise of noted producer Eddie Kramer, a close associate of Jimi Hendrix, for the band's no-nonsense work ethic. Of note are Kiss's hilariously guileless quotes, such as the admission that another producer "made a point of trying to get us to stop writing songs about getting laid, which was valid. But he needed to understand that's all we ever did."

From Booklist
Although dedicated rock readers familiar with previous KISS tell-alls--most notably, tongue-man Gene Simmons' Kiss and Make-Up (2001)--may question whether there is much behind the band's kabuki-ish make-up besides being an ace gimmick, this slobbering devotional is worthwhile. For one thing, it packs all the major elements of Kisstory into one breezy package. For another, the PowerPoint-ish organization of the text facilitates easy reading. Sure, Leaf and Sharp find incredible depth and talent where others might miss it (they particularly adore the platform-booted anthem, "Rock and Roll All Nite"), but they state right up front, "nonbelievers--this book isn't for them." There are enough believers--members of the "KISS Army"--to make this surefire bait for the elusive testosterone-infused demographic. Mike Tribby

Highly Recommended Reading For Rock Fans - Every KISS Fan Must Own This Book
By From the Musician's Pen
I picked this up at a book warehouse on sale for $5. It's really 2 "official" (i.e approved by and fully involving the members of KISS) books in one by 2 different authors, that together give the full history and inside perspective on the band's career and all of their songs. The paperback version is over 400 pages and offers many black and white photos throughout and a middle section with colour pics.

The first third of the book is the band's official biography, as written by David Leaf back in 1979. It's a narrative text that tells how KISS became KISS. The rest of the book is Ken Sharp's compilation of interview comments made by the band and others involved in their projects (producers, session musicians, co-songwriters, etc.). This section discusses, chronologically, every album, every song, etc. released by the band.

What makes this book special is the open-ness and honesty of the interviewees and the tight editing that keeps it all focussed and easy to read and follow. The band has its history of ups and downs, in-fighting, musical experimentation and risk-taking, etc. and everyone gets to speak their mind here. Where appropriate, they criticize each other and they criticize themselves, bad decisions, bad songs, bad productions, bad ideas, recordings that didn't live up to their potential, etc. They also have enough pride to point out their successes.

The personalities really come through. Along with insightful comments (some made during the recording process, others made in hindsight), there's much humour, regret, frustration, emotion and heart. It's a great rock and roll story, and you don't have to be a big KISS fan to enjoy it. Every major KISS fan MUST OWN THIS BOOK. It's a book I'll likely read again. Highly recommended.

For All the Spacebears and Curly fans out there!! BUY IT!!!
By Spacebeard07
Where do I even begin to start in my review of this book? This is my first venture into reviewing books so bare with me.
Kiss - Behind The Mask is simply the be all, end all of books out on the market talking about the real history of the band. This isn't KISSTORY where Paul And Gene are the ones basically telling you their side of the story. This book has some of the best quotes ever seen in a KISS book. Put it this way, the small entry in part 2 of the book about Bob Kulicks recording experience with Paul and Gene on KILLERS had me laughing and clamoring for more info.
The book is broken into two parts. The first part, an unreleased piece done by David Leaf circa 1979. It's not explained as to why this wasn't released in 1980 but after reading it I can tell why this wasn't released to the public back then. This would've damaged KISS at a time where they were basically marketing themselves to a younger audience. The Quotes about the band by great bands such as THE WHO, THE RAMONES, THE REPLACEMENTS and OZZY were very cool additions to a book that was a classic upon page 1 being read. Someone mentioned Gene Simmons's quotes not being contrived and planned out diatribes and this is very true indeed. Peter Criss is let loose in this portion of the book as well as Ace. The background stories of the original 4 band members from this perspective is the best pre-KISSTORY document I've ever read. It's more interesting coming from the original band members themselves rather than from some ghost author attempting to tell their stories. It's nice to see Gene Simmons And Paul Stanley shown in a completely different light than what we're used to seeing lately. Thankfully, Ken Sharp convinced David Leaf to unearth this Gem because KISS fans finally get what they've wanted for a long time. A truthful document on the story of the band without Gene Simmons and Paul Stanleys mitts all over it (ie: KISSTORY, Gene Simmons 2 books)
The second part of the book is where you think to yourself, "As if it wasn't enough reading the first part of the book, now I get THIS!!?". This is because you get an incomplete but 95% complete history of KISS's studio/Live and Complilation albums (with the exception of KISS MY ASS, GREATEST KISS and ALIVE 4). Only on a few of the albums are songs left out. Most likely due to the lack of information about albums such as Peter Criss's solo album and Ace's Solo album as well. I doubt this was intentional at all but this is a moot point. In this section of the book you get quotes from Producers, band members, Session musicians, management, you name it, they're in this book. This was hands down my favorite part of the book because there is so much info thrown out there for the first time. stuff that Gene and Paul would rather have kept behind closed doors, studio doors that is. This was great and disappointing at times. Disappointing only in that once you read certain things about certain albums you felt betrayed in a way. KISS fans have always known that since Dressed To Kill the members of KISS wouldn't always play on the records but what Part two of this book reveals is simply amazing at times. You'll lose count as to who played on what for who and where it was done. This extensive coverage is as amazing as it gets. Ken Sharp should be given awards for this piece that he offered to the book. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into the writing of this book.
No Matter what the price is on this book here on Amazon, this is a MUST BUY for all fans but especially DIE HARD Kiss fans like myself. This will make you see the band differently than you've ever seen them before and alot of times make you laugh out loud. This is a brilliant and well written book that's destined to become the Must own book about the band. I don't know who's going to top this but his name starts with BILL and ends with AUCOIN. That's not likely to happen anytime soon so this will serve as the BOOK to own about KISS.
My top 3 Favorite Books about KISS:
1. KISS - BEHIND THE MASK
2. KISS - ALIVE FOREVER - The Complete Touring History
3. KISS N SELL by C.K. Lendt
