About the Author
Dee Davis has a BA in Political Science and History, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. During a ten-year career in public relations, she spent three years on the public speaking circuit, did television and radio commercials, and lobbied both the Texas State Legislature and the US Congress. She has won the Booksellers Best, Golden Leaf, Texas Gold and Prism awards, and been nominated for the National Readers Choice Award, the Holt and two RT Reviewers Choice Awards. To date, she has sold eighteen books and three novellas.
Dee has lived in Austria and traveled in Europe extensively. And although she now lives in Manhattan, she still calls Texas home.

How is it possible for this series to get better - read this book and you will see!

Karma is a fickle mistress that will not be controlled or tamed even though we try to manipulate it and pretend it is coincidence that created the mess we are in. At times it is truly Karma that puts you right where you are supposed to be and we accept that everything happens for a reason.
Tyler Hanson is the daughter of an iconic Army General who taught her to never give up and training Tyler to control her decisions and destiny. Prepared to handle anything after her stint in the army she joined the secretive American Tactical Intelligence Command (A-Tac) group as their munitions expert. This background is how she came to lead the team that was transporting a top secret military weapon one night on a dark stretch of road. It was a well calculated plan to accomplish the mission but unforeseen incidents and ghosts from the past create a terrible incident that lead to death and the confiscation of the government weapon by an unknown enemy. With all the problems and bad scenarios that arose from the theft the ray of hope that Tyler never believed would appear was in the form of a man. But when she meets the British MI-5's Intelligent Agent Owen Wakefield what a great problem he turned out to be.
Yet after her recovery and amazing debriefing by Owen it soon becomes clear that Tyler was not on the mission by accident it was a direct order given by her father. Why her father was involved, why he wanted A-Tac there, and in particular Tyler to be the lead with this weapon transport was unclear. Most important of all who knew outside of A-Tac that this mission was going to happen and set this disaster in motion. Too many things on A-Tac missions are going wrong, too many dangerous mistakes being made and lives are being put at risk. This was not Karma or coincidence this was a human created scenario that Tyler and the entire team was going to figure out and solve.
But the more Tyler investigates the more questions arise about her father, his friends and especially Owen's mysterious past and questionable involvement with A-Tac. They were drawn to one another from the moment they met but both of them have so many secrets and figuring out which one of them is holding back the most painful one will either turn everything around for the recovery mission, uncover the mole is or destroy everything including their relationship. They may be working with each other and walking into a relationship but without trust no amount of Karma will help until you let your guard down and tell the truth. Life may not be a romance novel but it sure can be fun and full of love if you just trust your heart and go with your first impressions.
This book is the 3rd in the series and while I dislike picking favorites this one is the clear choice for perfect with me. You have the drama, the suspense, the military secrets, more suspense and best of all two wonderful characters that just can't stop being amazing and full of life which jumps out at you on every page. Good job Dee Davis I hope this series continues.

Dee Davis's 'The A-Tac Series' has become a favorite. Any reader who loves military romantic suspense books will love this series. Although it is not critical to understand the development of the story line in "Desperate Deeds" (Book Three), interesting background information about the A-Tac team is presented in Book One, "Dark Deceptions", and Book Two, "Dangerous Desires." In these two books, the team has been encountering elements of sabotage during their missions that indicates they may have a traitor in their midst. The pursuit of that traitor takes up the majority of the plot line in "Desperate Deeds."
There was something about this 'A-Tac Series' that just really grabbed and held my attention. Features about "Desperate Deeds" that were so enthralling and engaging, include: {1} The massive amounts of action that pervaded the book. {2} The dual sense of nail-biting suspense: (a) who was the mole and (b) would the hero and heroine be able to find him/her/them in time to prevent a catastrophic event. {3} An emotionally wounded, hunky, alpha hero strong enough to stand up to the heroine. {4} An attractive, smart, independent heroine who knows what she wants and won't settle for less. {5} Spicy, heated, magical love scenes that include an emotional connection as well as a sexual one. {6} The inclusion of the entire A-Tac team as interesting secondary characters. {7} The inclusion of additional secondary characters who are connected to the heroine's personal background (i.e., her father and brother). {8} The two things that always count in fiction: (a) the good guys win, and (b) the boy gets the girl (and lives happily ever after).

Great conclusion to the A-Tac series (Michelle&Leslie's Book Picks blog review)

Desperate Deeds is the third book in Dee Davis's A-Tac series and I thoroughly enjoyed. The questions that have been haunting me since book one (Dark Deceptions) are answered yet it leaves it open enough in the end that there may be more A-Tac books to come in the future. I am not quite ready to leave the fascinating world of A-Tac and I am hoping there will be a spin-off set in the same world (surely Avery deserves his own story).
In Desperate, we get to know more about Tyler Hanson, a demolitions expert and a recurring character in the first two books. I really liked her--she is smart and tough but she still has a feminine side. She is the kind of heroine I like reading about as she is interesting and multi-dimensional. Her hero is Owen Wakefield and he's okay; he is supposed to be British but I wasn't really feeling it. Tyler and Owen are great together and I thought the chemistry is there. Desperate is not as pulse-pounding or fast-paced as book two, Dangerous Desires (my favorite!), but there's plenty of action and don't think you know who the mole is... there's a few twist and turns before we find out.
Though this book can be read as standalone and you can easily catch on the the back story, I think you'll enjoy Desperate more if you read the first two books. However, if you read the first two in the series, then this book is definitely a must-read. Overall, I think Dee Davis can definitely write thrilling romantic suspense and Desperate Deeds is a satisfying conclusion to a great series.
